New Holland Workmaster 25 front bucket drops overnight

Hi everyone. My New Holland Workmaster 25 is almost a year old. That time went by very fast. I've been using it a lot to clean up some property I have. Never paid much attention to the front bucket, but did notice something recently. For whatever reason, when I leave the front bucket up about 2 feet, by morning it has dropped to the ground. I don't know if this is designed to do this or not. A friend has a different make tractor than mine and he said his does the same thing. If this is not proper, then I want to get it corrected asap. My dealer is about 25-30 minutes away and I will contact him if need be. Interesting enough, my 450 lb. box blade I can keep elevated on the rear 3 point hitch and it doesn't move an inch overnight, so this issue makes me wonder. I'd appreciate any shared experiences or suggestions. Thank you very much, Carmine.

I cannot assist you with your question, but from a safety standpoint, I wouldn't leave any hydraulic item in the air overnight, front or rear. God forbid some kids come along and start playing with it and one gets caught underneath with no means to lift it back up — could be deadly. My $.02.

It's common for the hydraulics to bleed off pressure and lower. As mentioned, when you stop the tractor you should always lower all the hydraulic attachments for safety reasons.

The hydraulic system is typical in drifting down over time. I really don't understand why you would lower the bucket to 2 inches or so from the floor and not lower it all the way.

I've never had a loader that doesn't drop when sitting. Out of two John Deeres, a New Holland backhoe, and a small Kubota, all the loaders drop when parked. I put them on the ground before I shut them off.

I just recently noticed this condition and left the bucket up just to make sure I saw what I think I did — it was more or less a test. I left the rear box blade up too to make sure it wasn't losing pressure also, and it wasn't. I put my tractor in the garage every day when not in use; it's never been outside overnight since I owned it. I always set the front bucket down on a long piece of 4x6 and likewise for any implement on the rear hitch. No metal ever contacts the concrete floor. I just thought with the pressure loss there might be something wrong with it and wanted it corrected while still under warranty. Thank you for the responses, Carmine.

That's actually a really slow drop. If you had a Deere, it would drop within an hour!

I do not ever recall our 1988 JD 650 having a drop issue, and we had that tractor for over 20 years. Now the 2008 JD 2320 seems to start dropping right after you stop a lift. Cheap hydraulics if you ask me.
